Kangana questions Sonia Gandhi’s ‘silence’ on ‘harassment’ by Maharashtra govt

"Can you not request your govt to uphold the principles of the Constitution?"

Kangana Ranaut on Friday questioned Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s silence on the ‘harassment she faced in Maharashtra. “Being a woman aren’t you anguished by the treatment I am given by your government in Maharashtra?” Kangana asked Sonia.

She added: “Can you not request your Government to uphold the principles of the Constitution given to us by Dr. Ambedkar?”

“You have grown up in the west and lived here in India. You may be aware of the struggles of women. History will judge your silence and indifference when your own Government is harassing women and ensuring a total mockery of law and order. I hope you will intervene,” she tweeted.

Amid the ongoing tussle between Kangana and the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished ‘illegal construction’ at her Mumbai office on Tuesday. However, the Bombay High Court, stalled the demolition drive after the actress filed a plea.

In her earlier tweets, Kangana has attacked the BMC, Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for trying to break her spirit and oppress her voice by flexing their political muscles. The Shiv Sena retaliated after Kangana said that Mumbai felt like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and she feared living there, and Sena leader and spokesperson Sanjay Raut told her to never return to the city.

Kangana also took to Twitter to address the chief minister and said that like her house was demolished, their ego will be destroyed.

“You think you have taken a huge revenge by destroying my house in collusion with the movie mafia. Today my house is destroyed, tomorrow it will be your ego. The wheels of time keep changing,” she said in video message in Hindi.
