Rhea Chakraborty requests ED to defer questioning till SC hearing

ED is probing alleged money laundering case in connection with Sushant’s death

Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who has been summoned to appear before Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday, in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, has requested to postpone the questioning.

“Rhea Chakraborty has requested that the recording of her statement be postponed till SC Hearing,” her advocate Satish Manshinde told ANI on Friday.

The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, had asked the states of Maharashtra and Bihar, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s father to file replies on Rhea’s plea to transfer the FIR lodged against her in connection with Sushant’s death, from Patna to Mumbai. The hearing in the matter will be held after a week.

Rhea is set to be questioned in the money laundering case registered by ED, after it took congnisance of the FIR registered by Patna Police, based on Sushsant’s father’s complaint. His father K.K.Singh had alleged that Rs 15 crore was transferred from Sushant’s bank account to other accounts that had no connection with him.

On Thursday, the CBI registered FIR against actor Rhea, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, and Shruti Modi in connection with the actor’s death. The Centre had, on Wednesday, accepted the Bihar government’s plea for CBI probe into the actor’s death. According to media reports, the the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI, which is currently probing the bank fraud case against Vijay Mallya and the AgustaWestland chopper deal, will investigate the death of the actor.
