Coincidence much? Web series on PM Modi to stream during seven-phase Lok Sabha polls

While fans and followers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are eagerly waiting for his biopic, directed by Omung Kumar with Vivek Oberoi in the lead, there are now reports that a web series on the prime minister will be out soon.

According to media reports, titled 'Modi,' the web series will stream on Eros Now from April 11 to May 19, during the period of Lok Sabha elections which will be held in seven phases. The series is directed by Umesh Shukla of Oh My God and 102 Not Out fame.

Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the news. "Now a 10-part *web series* on PM Narendra Modi... Eros Now and Benchmark Pictures [Umesh Shukla and Ashish Wagh] to produce the biopic... Titled #Modi... Directed by Umesh Shukla [who directed #OhMyGod and #102NotOut]... Premieres in April 2019 on Eros Now... First look poster," he tweeted.

The web series will chronicle Modi's life from the age of 12 till the time he became the prime minister after the 2014 general elections. Actor Faisal Khan, Ashish Sharma and Mahesh Thakur will portray Modi at different stages of his life in the series, penned by Mihir Bhuta and Radhika Anand. Each of the episodes will be about 40 minutes.

Calling Modi an exciting project, Ridhima Lulla, chief content officer of Eros Group, said the web series attempts to recount the story of Moid's struggle, his ambition and success, and how these factors make him a mass leader besides making him an inspiration for many.
