Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, on Friday, made an absurd claim that India had requested the US for a ceasefire during the recent military stand-off between India and Pakistan.
India has always maintained that the ceasefire was ultimately agreed bilaterally between India and Pakistan through their military channels, without US mediation, despite the many claims by US President Donald Trump of brokering peace.
Ishaq Dar said he received a call from the US regarding the ceasefire and added that he made it clear that Pakistan did not want war with India.
The deputy PM has been quoted as saying that Pakistan is not ready to have a discussion on any single-point agenda with India but is willing to "discuss all outstanding issues, including the Kashmir issue."

He said Pakistan did not ask anyone to arrange talks with India.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed that India had the backing of international media during the military conflict because these "outlets had employees of Indian origin because of their greater population.”
Ironically, he claimed that Pakistani media was spreading "factual information."
