Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan highlighted the importance of continued vigilance, jointness and synergy across the Services to address evolving threats faced by the country, during his visits to the Indian Army’s Northern Command in Jammu & Kashmir's Udhampur and Western Command at Chandimandir Military Station in Haryana.
He hailed the exemplary conduct and successful execution of military operations during Operation Sindoor and attributed the success of the recent military action against Pakistan to the high morale, discipline and unwavering commitment of the Indian Army.
The CDS interacted with the Army Commanders Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma and Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, and senior staff officers who were involved in the planning and execution of Operation Sindoor, and carried out a strategic review and operational assessment of both the Commands.

He was briefed about the success of the Northern Command in neutralising the terror network and the military assets of Pakistan that aided terror outfits. The Northern Army Commander gave General Chauhan an update on the continued operational and logistics preparedness of the Command. The CDS was also assured that the Command will make every effort to end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
A comprehensive brief on the kinetic and non-kinetic punitive response by the Western Command during Operation Sindoor was presented to the CDS at Chandimandir. He was also offered a detailed overview of the operational environment, defence preparedness and key outcomes of the operation.
He hailed the valour, resolve, precision and discipline of all ranks and acknowledged the operational excellence achieved by the field formations responsible for the Northern and Western borders in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.
