Mukesh Ambani beats Adani on Hurun rich list 2025; Shah Rukh Khan joins billionaire club

Mukesh Ambani and his family have overtaken Gautam Adani, making it to the top of the latest M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025. Ambani topped the list with a net worth of Rs 9.55 lakh crore. Adani and his family made it second on the list with a wealth of  Rs 8.15 lakh crore.

The list is published in partnership with the Hurun Research Institute. 

Roshni Nadar Malhotra made it to the top three for the first time, making her the richest woman in India after amassing a wealth of Rs 2.84 lakh crore.

The report said that the new entrants highlighted the nation's changing wealth landscape, stating, “It is inspiring to see new entrants reshaping India’s wealth landscape.”

There is now a sixfold rise in the number of Indian billionaires since the list began 13 years ago, with the total number surpassing 350. 

The combined wealth of all of them totals around Rs 167 lakh crore, nearly half of India's gross domestic product. 

Many in the list are fresh entrepreneurs. Aravind Srinivas, founder of Perplexity, is the youngest billionaire on the list with a Rs 21,190 crore wealth. Zepto's Kaivalya Vohra, 22, is the youngest entrant, followed by co-founder Aadit Palicha, 23

Bollywood actor and superstar Shah Rukh Khan joined the billionaire club with a net worth of Rs 12,490 crore. 

The list also sees multiple family members showcasing how the wealth proliferates among the diaspora. It also shows how consumer brand loyalty.  Manohar Lal Agarwal, Madhusudhan Agarwal, and Shivkishan Moolchand Agarwal, all from Haldiram Snacks and Haldiram Foods International families, jumped 15 ranks out of 46 places this year. 

Other new entrants include Aditya Khemka & family from Aditya Infotech. A significant jump rope was also made by Ai Tech’s Divyank Turakhia, who climbed 108 spots with his Rs 30,600 crore wealth.
