PVR INOX, on Monday, announced that it will open its new seven-screen multiplex at Global Mall, Mysore Road in Bengaluru.
This will be its sixth multi-sensory 4DX auditorium in the city and will augment PVR INOX's presence in Bengaluru with 24 properties and 146 screens, the company said in a statement. With this, PVR INOX’s presence in South India has gone up to 530 screens in 95 properties.
In Karnataka alone, PVR INOX will now have 189 screens in 34 properties.
"We are delighted to expand our presence in Bengaluru, one of India's fastest-growing, accommodating, and cosmopolitan cities. As part of our merger synergies, we are aggressively looking at accelerating screen rollout across key markets and also tapping unexplored territories," PVR's managing director Ajay Bijli said.
The new cinema hall is housed in Global Mall located next to Nayandahalli Metro Station and has a seating capacity of 1,189, with recliners in the last row.
The multiplex is equipped with the best-in-class theatrical solutions, including the SP4K next-generation laser projectors that deliver ultra-high resolution, sharp and bright images.
The audios feature advanced Dolby Atmos audio and Next-Gen 3D technology for an immersive experience.
Recently, PVR had announced that it planning to close down 50 loss-making cinemas and open 150-175 more screens in 2024. "We plan to open 150-175 more screens in FY'24. Most of these screens are in different stages of fit-out," the company had said while announcing its quarterly results.
