Why this decision to start surgeries in the UAE?
The awareness among patients in the UAE about cosmetic surgeries is tremendous. Everyone wants to look good. I already had several patients coming to our Mumbai centre from the UAE for many years. So I thought if we can provide the same level of care and expertise in the UAE, then it will be easier for our patients to avail our services.
What are the procedures you will be performing in the UAE?
I will be performing our whole range of Facial Aesthetic Surgeries like Rhinoplasty using autologous cartilage, Deep plane Facelift, Gliding Browlift, Blepharoplasty, Breast surgeries and body contouring surgeries. These are done using the latest sophisticated technology and an experience of several thousand successful surgeries done back home in Mumbai.
Do these cosmetic surgeries get covered under insurance?
No. Most of the cosmetic surgeries do not have insurance coverage, but the Burjeel Reem Day Surgery centre offers really competitive rates and discounts to all our patients. Plus one can pay using credit card and convert these into EMI to reduce the payment burden.
What other specialized surgeries will you be offering in Abu Dhabi?
I have specialized in ear reconstruction surgery for microtia, which is absence of external ear since birth. I trained under Dr Francoise Firmin in Paris and have performed more than 600 ear reconstruction surgeries so far. These techniques will be available in Abu Dhabi now. So our patients from Middle East with problems with external ear can avail these facilities. These are technically very demanding surgeries and world over there are very few plastic surgeons doing these surgeries.
