Food delivery app Zomato will shut down its delivery operations in UAE from November 24.

According to media reports, Zomato, in an e-mail to its restaurant partners, said, "We want to thank you for being a trusted partner of Zomato food ordering over the years. Your contribution has been significant in offering a great experience to and delighting our beloved customers."

"We wish you the very best for the continued growth of your business and look forward to partnering with you in the growth of your dining out business,” the letter read.

Zomato made its entry into UAE in 2020.

Customers who are looking to order food through Zomato will automatically be directed to an online food-ordering company, Talabat. “Customers can continue to order from their preferred restaurants on the Talabat app, including many of their Zomato-loved brands … Restaurant partners can also choose to join Talabat to grow their businesses, while offering their customers the delivery experience Talabat brings,” Khaleej Times quoted a Zomato spokesperson as saying.

Zomato, will, however, continue offering its restaurant discovery and dining-out services. The foodtech firm said it is “redefining the way our customers experience dining out” with the launch of new features ‘Vibe Check’ and ‘Zomato Pay’.
