Railways to arrange 211 special trains during ongoing festive season

There will be 2,561 special trips

The Indian Railways, on Tuesday, announced that it will run 211 special trains in the ongoing festive season.

The Railways will run 2,561 special trips of 211 special trains (in pairs) till Chhath Puja to " to connect major destinations across the country on railway routes, like Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Firozpur, Patna, Katihar and Amritsar," it said in a release.

Railways notified additional 32 Indian railways special trains to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for passengers during this festive season, while 179 special services were notified earlier, the ministry said.

The ministry warned against malpractices like cornering of seats and over-charging and touting, while announcing Diwali special train list 2022.

"Crowd controlling measures by forming queue at the terminus stations under the supervision of RPF staff for orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches is being ensured," it said.
