SBI cash withdrawals, cheque book use to be costly from July 1. All you need to know

Senior citizens, however, are exempted from this limit on cheque book

From July 1, the State Bank of India (SBI) will impose charges for cash withdrawal from ATMs, bank branches and via cheque book.

Beyond four cash withdrawals from ATMs or bank branches for the Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts (SBI BSBDs), charges will be levied from customers, reports Mint.

There will be a charge of ₹15 plus GST on SBI customers on each cash withdrawal at ATMs or bank branches after the four free cash withdrawals in a month. The same charges will be applicable if a customer withdraws money from ATMs of other banks as well.

Besides, there won't be charges for only first10 cheque leafs for the SBI account holders in a financial year. If the customer uses more than 10 cheque leafs in a financial year, the next 10 leafs will be charged at Rs40 plus the GST. Rs 75 and GST will be charged for next 25 heque leafs.

Besides, ₹50 plus GST will be levied on Emergency Cheque Book for first 10 cheque leafs and thereof.

Senior citizens, however, are exempted from this limit on cheque book leafs.
