Seven years after its launch, Mahindra & Mahindra gave a facelift to its flagship XUV500 with a starting price of Rs 12.32 lakh, Rs 30,000 lower than the previous price. 2018 Mahindra SUV500 comes with five diesel trims and one petrol model.
The automaker has definitely gone a notch further in styling the SUV. Mahindra has brought in new quilted leather seats in an attemot to enhance the overall interiors of the XUV500. The dashboard and door trims have been fashioned according to contemporary looks. A bold new grille, new tailgate and tail-lamp clusters with a stylish touch, new LED DRLs in projector headlamps, pronounced wheel arches are a few of the other differences of 2018 Mahindra XUV500.

The SUV has been made more powerful with the mHawk engine. The 2.2L power plant delivers an output of 114 kW (155 BHP) and a torque of 360 Nm @ 1750-2800 r/min in the diesel variant, and an equally imposing 103 kW (140 BHP) of power and torque of 320 Nm @ 2000-3000 r/min in the petrol variant.
The diesel variants of 2018 Mahindra XUV500 are priced between ₹12,32,036 and ₹17,88,036. The petrol model is priced at ₹15,43,038.
The new 2018 Mahindra XUV500 comes with an infotainment system supported by Arkamys-enhanced audio, along with first-in-class smart watch connectivity, connected apps and Ecosense technology.
The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 is available in five manual transmission variant options—W5, W7, W9, W11 and W11 OPT. All the variants are also available with an automatic transmission option, except the base W5.
Mahindra XUV500 competes with Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Renault Duster and the Tata Hexa.
