Remixes remakes ok if done with good intention says Arshad

Mumbai, Dec 14 (PTI) Actor Arshad Warsi says remixing an old track or remaking a classic should not be seen as an issue as long as they are done with a good intention.
The actor, who features in two revamped tracks -- 'Aankh Marey' from Rohit Shetty's "Simmba" and 'Chamma Chamma' from his upcoming film 'Fraud Saiyaan', is in favour of recreating old hit tracks.
He makes a cameo in 'Aankh Marey', which is taken from his debut film "Tere Mere Sapne".
"Progression is very important. If you get a chance to remix and remake, if the intention is good and you have something new to say (then it is ok).
"Aankh Maare is a good song to remix. You can see the difference, people are enjoying it. There is no harm in spreading joy. A song is recreated for the new generation. If you ask me, I would like to see another version of 'Sholay'," Arshad told reporters here at the launch of new 'Chamma Chamma'.
"Fraud Saiyaan" has had its share of controversies after its writer-director Sourabh Shrivastava left the project midway. The film has been produced by Prakash Jha's daughter Disha.
When asked to comment, Arshad said, "Everybody has their own perspective and belief in life. It is fine. I think he has done a good job. It has turned out to be a nice and funny film. He will be applauded for what he has done. He should have been here."
The actor said Shrivastava should have stayed till the end.
"You must bow down and be graceful and grateful enough when you have done something and people who appreciate and if they don't appreciate, you must own it. Either ways, you should be humble enough and say thank you. I wish he should have done that, that would have been nice."
The film’s story revolves around Arshad’s character who has 13 wives and multiple affairs which keeps getting him in trouble.
The film, which has been in the making for four years, is scheduled to be released on January 18, next year. PTI KKP BK
