From getting to know Jennifer Lopez up close, to a documentary on the eccentric Elon Musk, there are some really interesting documentaries lined up this year. Here are some of the most anticipated ones of 2024. (Compiled by Sara Anna Eapen)

Union

The documentary film Union, helmed by Brett Story and Stephen Maing, is scheduled for release in 2024. It follows the Staten Island-based Amazon Labor Union as they fight Amazon.

Luther: Never Too Much

The subject of this documentary is Luther Ronzoni Vandross Jr. an American record producer, composer, and performer of soul and R&B. It has been directed by Dawn Porter and produced by Tirish D Chetty and Ged Doherty. The first official documentary about the iconic R&B singer will debut at Sundance in January and give viewers access to his never-before-seen personal archive.

JLo’s This Is Me … Now: The Film

In February, Prime Video will release Jennifer Lopez's film This Is Me... Now. It is expected to be a deeply personal narrative of Jennifer Lopez's path towards self-healing. One of the highest-paid Latina actors, Jlo achieved major success in the music and film business. The documentary directed by Dave Meyers will be released in February.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story

Christopher Reeve became an overnight superstar after the release of the first Superman film! The studios made him reprise the part three times in order to capitalize on his star power. Following his 1995 accident, which left the action movie star paralyzed from the neck down, Reeve rose to prominence in the United States as a leading proponent of spinal cord injury research. The documentary follows the ins and outs of Reeve's life. It will premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

Musk

The life of the world's richest man is being chronicled by tireless documentarian Alex Gibney, who has directed movies including Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley. The extremely wealthy founder of SpaceX and Tesla is the son of business tycoon Errol Musk. Most recently, he has been in the news for acquiring Twitter, managing the firm controversially, and rebranding it as X.
