When cute guys turn bad!

Popular characters who turned evil (Compiled by Christy Rosy Sibi)

#1 Pinocchio:

As if the concept of a boy’s nose growing every time he lied wasn’t scary enough for the little ones, Pinocchio’s Revenge (1996) is here to prove you wrong. Directed by Kevin S. Tenney, known for his venture into horror, the movie scored a disappointing 24 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

#2 Winnie-the-Pooh:

It seems as though Christopher Robin’s best friend doesn’t hold the title anymore. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023), directed by Rhys Frake Waterfield, features our beloved teddy bear and Piglet out to terrorize Christopher and a group of young college women. Part two releases in February 2024.

#3 Humpty Dumpty:

Scoring a staggeringly low 7 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, 'The Curse of Humpty Dumpty' (2021), directed by Scott Jeffrey, follows the story of egg-shaped children’s nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty. In the movie, he chooses to haunt a dementia-struck woman and her family.

#4 The Grinch:

We all know that the Grinch is the antagonist of Christmas but not to a point where he’d murder a girl’s parents to ruin the holiday season. 'The Mean One' is a 2022 Christmas horror directed by Steven LaMorte. His name “Grinch” is not used in the movie due to copyright laws.

#5 Little Red Riding Hood:

Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, Red Riding Hood, released in 2011, coming under the genre of romantic horror, takes a dark twisted turn on the classic children’s fairy tale story. The movie stars the likes of Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman.

#6 Mickey Mouse:

Jamie Bailey couldn’t wait until the official release of Steamboat Willie’s Mickey to the public domain. A day after the copyright was removed on the earlier Mickey, a new horror movie trailer was dropped for an upcoming movie horror 'Mickey’s Mouse Trap.' Release: March 2024.
