Five movies inspired by Ramayana to watch

Lav Kush

Lav Kush is a 1997 Hindi-language movie based on Uttarkand Ramayan. The movie begins with Shri Ram and Sita Devi returning to Ayodhya from Lanka after defeating Ravana. It ends with the coronation of Lav-Kush, and Sita and Ram merging into their original Lakshmi Narayan form. Watch it on Zee5.

Sampoorna Ramayanam

The 1958 Tamil-language film, Sampoorna Ramayanam is based on Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayana. The movie depicts the entire Ramayana, beginning with the reign of Dasharatha and the yagam he conducted and ends with the coronation of Shri Rama. Watch it on YouTube

Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama

Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama is one of the most popular Anime films amongst the 90s kids. The film depicts the series of events and challenges Ram and Sita had to face in their lives.

Ram Setu

Ram Setu is a 2022 Bollywood film. In 2007, the government of India and the ASI submitted an affidavit to court stating that there is no proof that Ram built Ram Setu and requested permission to demolish the bridge. An atheist ASI archaeologist, Dr. Aryan Kulshreshth (Akshay Kumar) is assigned to write a report to prove that the bridge was a natural formation. But he ends up discovering the truth and proves that the Bridge was built by Shri Ram and his army. Watch it on Prime Video.

Adipurush

The 2023 Telegu film Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan was inspired from Ramayana. The movie took instances from the life of Shri Ram and portrayed it by adding the colours of imagination. The film is a visual treat, but the depiction of history in the movie is not entirely true.
