Vallarasu (2000)

An honest Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vallarasu, fights a Pakistani terrorist and other homegrown evil elements. Iconic one-liner: “Indha Vallarasu Gandhiyaa irukkaradhum, Subhash Chandra Bose aa mararadhum, un kaila dhaan irukku. (It is up to you to determine whether I will be a Gandhi or a Bose)”.

Narasimha (2001)

A terrorist kidnaps Army officers and plans to execute them publicly, but is thwarted by an honest police officer, Narasimha. Iconic one-liner: “Current thotta sadharna manushyanikku shock adikkum... naan Narasimha, enna thotta current ikke shock adikkum (Normal human beings get electrocuted, but if electric current touches me, it will get electrocuted)”.

Thavasi (2001)

A respected and upright landlord, Thavasi, decides to right a 'wrong' by making an ultimate sacrifice. Iconic one-liner: “Tulsi vaasam maaralam aana Thavasi vaarthai maaramattan. (Tulasi leaf may change its scent, but Thavasi will never change his word)”. Other one from the same film is: “Naan adangi poravan illada... adakittu poravan (I am not the one to go meekly, I am the one who controls)”.

Vaanchinathan (2001)

A sincere police officer, Vaanchinathan, is on mission to thwart the evil plans of a notorious gangster. Iconic one-liner: “Sattathai madhikkaravan ennoda mugatha paarthu pesunga da. Madhikkaadhavan ennoda ‘Soo’-va paarth pesunga da (Those who respect the law, talk to my face; the rest, talk to my shoe)”.

Ramana (2002)

A professor, Ramana, tries to end corruption by forming a secret force. Iconic one-liner: “Mannipu, Tamizhlu enakku pudikkatha ore vaarthhai (Forgiveness—a word I hate in Tamil)”.
