The controversy:

In October 2023, he got into a drug abuse controversy due to which he withdrew from the production of 'No Way Out', an ongoing drama series. He was charged by the police with suspicion of using marijuana and psychoactive drugs. Though he tested negative, further investigations were to be conducted in November 2023. | AP

Lee's demise:

Lee Sun- Kyun was found dead on 27th December 2023 inside his car at a park in central Seoul. Investigation into his death is still underway. | AFP
