Meet Vladimir Putin's Aurus Senat, a fortress on wheels: Price, specs, and more

Russian President Vladimir Putin's Aurus Senat limousine, touted as the safest car in the world, will get a glimpse of New Delhi during his visit to India on Thursday.

The official Russian presidential state vehicle turned heads in India when PM Modi and Putin were driven in it to the 2025 SCO Summit in China.

The luxury limousine was built by Moscow-based Aurus Motors—a state limousine manufacturer since 2018, which opened to the public in 2021.

Putin's beloved Aurus Senat limousine costs about RUB 50 million (Rs 5.5 crore), as per a Moscow Times report.

This armoured beast is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine and can deliver 598 bhp at 880 Nm of torque—with the V12 option capable of 850 bhp.

The car sports leather interiors and ambient lighting, as well as built-in fire suppression and air filtration systems.

On the outside, the Aurus Senat is heavily armoured—it has 20-inch bulletproof wheels, and can fend off armour-piercing bullets, chemical attacks and grenade blasts.

However, there's more to the Senat that meets the eye: Putin's limo also has classified security features best left to the imagination.
