Designers are now teaming up with performance artists to give a theatrical twist to their collections. They are creating props and installations that are true works of art. The studio at the just-concluded Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 included a ‘space for experimentation and performance art’.
Designers like Kunal Rawal and brands like Poochki, The Pot Plant, I Was A Sari and Ka-Sha displayed their collections in a dramatic yet creative way. With runway models and artists swaying to music and acting out the theme, performance art was the highlight of the show.
