The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is likely to experience rain from February 16 to February 18, 2025, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) had announced on Sunday. A western upper-air jet stream moving across the country was cited as the reason for the "unsettled weather" by the agency that predicted rainfall to hit various parts of UAE in intervals.
On expected lines, light rainfall was reported on Monday morning over Dibba Al Fujairah, Al Tuwiyain in Fujairah, and over Al Mirfa area in Al Dhafra Region, Middle East-based media reports said. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected in Dubai on Monday although the NCM expects the temperatures to rise. Here are five things that UAE residents need to know about the NCM's weather predictions for the day.
1. Coastal, northern, and eastern areas of the UAE are most likely to receive rain on Monday when compared to other regions of the country. However, cloudy skies don't guarantee abundant rainfall throughout the country as NCM has predicted "probability of rainfall over some areas" alone.
2. Some regions may experience temperatures between 27 and 31 degree Celsius. People of coastal and island areas can expect a temperature drop -- as low as 15 to 20 degree Celsius, Gulf News said quoting the weather agency.
3. Similarly, residents of coastal regions should brace for blowing dust on Monday as light to moderate winds will reach speeds up to 40 km/hr, NCM said.
4. Rainfall is to be expected until Tuesday (February 18) in some of the coastal, northern and western areas.
5. During the early morning hours of Tuesday (February 18) and later in the evening, inland regions may experience an increased humidity.
