A New Zealand family found human remains in suitcases they bought at an auction on August 11. Detectives investigating the case have said that the remains are of two young children. The bodies have been in storage for several years and the victims were thought to have been aged between five and ten when they died, a BBC report reads.

A woman believed to be a family member of the two children is in South Korea, Seoul police say, The Guardian reported. Given the woman's past address and age, the woman, a Korean-born New Zealander could be the children's mother, the police said. She arrived in South Korea in 2018 and had no record of departure since then, a police officer told Reuters.

Her whereabouts aren't immediately known. Interpol has asked South Korean police to track down the woman's location.

The police used other items found in the storage facilities to find out more about the victims. The police have also been checking CCTV footage at the storage facility.
