Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler Mohammed Bin Salman or MBS hit back at the US after Biden raised the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The crown prince denied responsibility for the killing of Khashoggi at Saudi's Istanbul consulate. Biden said he disagreed with MBS based on US intelligence, CNN reported. The crown prince retaliated by bringing up the sexual and physical abuse of prisoners at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison by US military personnel and the killing of Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the occupied West Bank as examples of 'mistakes' on part of the US.

"The crown prince responded to President Biden's remarks on ... Khashoggi after quite clearly -- that this crime, while very unfortunate and abhorrent, is something that the kingdom took very seriously (and) acted upon in a way commiserate with its position as a responsible country," Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi foreign minister told CNN.

When journalist Jamal Khashoggi was murdered, the US had numerous times insinuated that the crown prince has a role in it, something MBS has denied for long. Relations between the nations have been tense due to the issue.

Khashoggi's fiance in the meantime called out Biden for fist-bumping the crown prince. She shared a tweet with the caption, what Khashoggi would tweet today. "Hey @POTUS, Is this the accountability you promised for my murder? The blood of MBS' next victim is on your hands," it read.
