PM Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from the Indian community in Berlin when he arrived for the first leg of his three-nation European tour. Several people waved at him, some even touched his feet at Hotel Adlon Kempinski, where he interacted with members of the Indian community.
He was received with chants of 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. The Prime Minister also interacted with the children who accompanied their parents.

Among them was a 10-year-old boy, who impressed the PM with a patriotic song. In the video, Modi can be seen snapping his fingers to the beat of the song. He said, 'waah, badhiya' when the boy finished singing. The boy sang, 'Hey Janma Bhoomi Bharat Hey Karma Bhumi Bharat.'
Modi also interacted with a little girl, who presented him with a portrait of his picture. The girl said that Modi was her idol. The PM asked the girl, "how long did it take you to make the portrait." he then clicked a picture with the girl and signed the portrait.
