Kabul's Deputy Governor Mahboobullah Mohebi was killed in a magnetic IED blast, Afghanistan officials have reported. Officials have said that Mohebi, who was travelling with his secretary, died due to a sticky bomb attached to his car going off.

The bomb attached to his car by unknown assailants. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the blast that injured two guards.

The incident took place at about 9.40 am in Macroryan 4 in PD9 in Kabul city.

Last week an Afghan government prosecutor was shot dead in eastern Kabul while he was on his way to work, a Reuters report reads.

This is a developing story.
