US President Donald Trump has said that his government has increased production of materials needed for the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus, adding that it would be completed very soon.

At a press briefing, as per an ANI report, Trump also said that the US will provide vaccine for COVID-19 to other nations, including India, when it is ready.

“When we have that vaccine it will be discharged and taken care of,” he said. The vaccine is expected to be ready by the end of the year or early 2021.

On Monday, the National Institutes of Health confirmed that US scientists are in phase three of trial for the potential vaccine developed by the biotechnology company Moderna.

Trump, who faces polls in November this year, again referred to the virus as the Chinese virus.

The president, who, at the beginning of the pandemic called himself a wartime president, said that his government had worked on war footing to deliver life-saving equipment to people during the peak of the pandemic.

Trump further said that they aim to produce 100 million doses of the vaccine as soon as it is approved and that the vaccines will be discharged very rapidly as soon as they are ready.

As per numbers from the John Hopkins University, the US has reported more than 4.3 million cases and more than 149,000 virus-related deaths so far.
