A woman in Italy has been unable to move her dead husband's body or arrange a funeral for her spouse who died of the deadly coronavirus. The woman living in the Borghetto Santo Spirito region in Italy's Savona province has been stuck in her apartment for the last two days, thanks to a strict quarantine regime imposed on the country in wake of the coronavirus breakout.

The woman, whose husband died late on Monday night, has been shouting, seeking help from the balcony of her apartment.

Giancarlo Canepa, mayor of Borghetto Santo Spirito told CNN, “The man, who had tested positive for the deadly virus, died on Monday night.” He also added that the body cannot be moved before Wednesday and that the man had refused to be taken to the hospital when it was discovered that he was infected with the COVID-19. A local television channel has interviewed the woman's neighbours and has broadcast them.

The man's family members are desperate to get his body and carry out the funeral.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control said that coronavirus has reached all countries of Europe. The World Health Organisation says the coronavirus belongs to the family of zoonotic viruses that spread from animals to humans. Symptoms of the virus include running cold, sneezes and cough, and in severe cases respiratory problems, shortness of breath, kidney failure or even death.
