As cases of coronavirus spread across the world, several false beliefs around the disease have been spread. US President Donald Trump isn't holding back from mouthing his beliefs about the scary virus either.

The president at a recent news conference said that the virus is like the flu, whereas, experts have said that it is far more contagious and dangerous than the common flu. He also said that it was okay for people with the virus to go to work. He added that "If we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work — some of them go to work, but they get better."

While talking to Fox News, he also said that a lot of people get better even without going to the doctor.

The Centres for Disease Control or CDC has said the opposite. They have asked people who are mildly ill with COVID-19 to isolate themselves and get medical care.

He later denied having said that and called the related report fake news.

Many multinationals have asked employees to work from home to prevent the spread of the disease. Closer home, the Karnataka state ministry too issued an advisory that people with flu-like symptoms should be allowed to work from home.

In the meantime, here are some other interesting beliefs Trump shared.

Trump said that warm weather will kill the weather, while experts said that the assumption is premature.

He has also said that a vaccine was coming in a few months. Whereas, experts say it could take longer. The president also falsified the World Health Organization's report that the death rate from the virus is 3.4 per cent. He cited it as a hunch.
