Australian senator Fraser Anning who was 'egged' by a teenager for his hateful comments after the New Zealand mosque attacks got what he deserved―this is the general consensus among netizens, who have hailed 'egg boy' Will Connelly for his actions.

Anning came under heavy fire, including from New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her Australian counterpart Scott Morrison, for his comments that the mosque attacks were a result of “Muslim immigration”. White supemacists attacked two mosques in Christchurch on March 15 and opened fire on Muslims who had come for Friday prayers. The attack left 50 people dead and several others injured.

Anning said that the immigration program which “allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand” was the cause of the violence. “Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence,” Anning had tweeted on the day of the attack.

New Zealand PM Ardern said Anning's comments were “a disgrace”.

While speaking to the press, Anning was taken by surprise by Will Connelly, a 17-year-old boy who cracked an egg on the senator's head while capturing it all on video. Anning then turned around to punch the boy twice before a few of his supporters tackled the teenager. Connelly was arrested by police, but was released soon without charge.

Australian PM Morrison supported Connelly and said that Anning should be charged for punching the teenager.

While Connolly is being hailed as a hero, he urged his online followers not to emulate him. “Don't egg politicians. You get tackled by 30 bogans at the same time,” he said in a video, using Australian slang for an ignorant white person. “I learnt the hard way,” he added.
