Pele admitted to hospital; daughter says 'no emergency'

The Brazilian soccer legend had a tumor removed from his colon in Sept 2021

Brazilian soccer legend Pele, who has been battling cancer, was on Wednesday, admitted into a hospital.

Kely Nascimento-Deluca, the eldest daughter of Pele, took to Instagram to say was "no surprise or emergency" involved.

She took to social media to update people about Pele's health after ESPN Brazil reported that Pele had been admitted to Albert Einstein Hospital with "general swelling" and was undergoing different tests. 

"Lots of alarm in the media today concerning my dad's health. He is in the hospital regulating medication," Nascimento wrote in the post. "There is no emergency or new dire prediction. I will be there for New Years and promise to post some pictures," she added.

Pele had a tumor removed from his colon in September 2021. Since then, he has been frequenting the hospital for treatment.
