After India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari displayed a gutsy show on Monday to draw the third Test against Australia in Sydney, the official Instagram handle of the Indian cricket team shared a video, offering a view of the celebratory mood inside the dressing room.

India may not have won the Test match, but the manner in which Ashwin and Vihari dug their heels in and secured the draw for the visitors, maintaining the series levelled at 1-1, was commendable. Despite struggling with injuries, both players managed to bat for over 42 overs to build a 62-run stand for the sixth wicket in the final session of the last day.

The video clip, shared on Instagram, showed the duo walking in after the match and being congratulated by stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane first, followed by other teammates one after the other.

“We’ve got you visuals from inside the dressing room post the historic draw at SCG. Moments to savour for a long time for #TeamIndia,” the caption read.

Ashwin is said to have been suffering from back spasms, and Vihari hurt his hamstring early during his innings. While they stuck through the rest of the match to see off the Australian attack, both players have been ruled out from the fourth and final Test match in Brisbane.

In addition, the Indian team has been dealt a big blow as many players have now been ruled out of the final Test due to injuries. The latest list of injured players include Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, Mayank Agarwal and Jasprit Bumrah.
