Indian Super League team Kerala Blasters are all set to sign Australian forward Jordan Murray, as per a report on Goal.

Murray, who was with the Central Coast Mariners, is said to have been released from the club for an undisclosed fee to “pursue an overseas opportunity”, the Mariners confirmed on Monday. Goal has reported that the forward is expected to move to India and join the Kerala-based ISL franchise. The Blasters are yet to confirm the signing.

The 25-year-old striker joined the Mariners in 2018 from APIA Leichardt. He scored seven goals in 41 appearances for the club.

The Mariners Head Coach Alen Stajcic thanked Murray for his contributions to the team.

“All of us wish Jordan the best of luck moving forward as he pursues this new opportunity,” Stajcic said. “Jordan has been great to work with in our time here and has always shown professionalism in his efforts both on and off the pitch.”

Murray said in a release that he would not change anything about his time at the Mariners and thanked everyone for their support.

“This is a good opportunity for me to grow as a player and gain experience, but I wouldn’t change anything about my time here,” he said.

“The Mariners fans have been absolutely terrific, and I’ve had nothing but love since I arrived at the club.

“It’s been a tough couple of years, but this club is on the rise and I’d like to say thanks for everyone’s support,” Murray added.

Murray also took to Twitter on Monday to express his gratitude to the Mariners and the fans, adding that their support will not be forgotten.

“Thankyou to staff and players past and present at the mariners. Ive made some life long friendships and great memories. Last but not least the fans. Your support throughout my time at the club has been unbelievable. It definitely doesn’t go unnoticed and won’t be forgotten,” Murray tweeted.
