Mahendra Singh Dhoni may have announced his retirement from international cricket, but he is still very much the ‘thala’at the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. The Indian Premier League team on Thursday shared a video compilation of their captain over the years that captured his wise words and witty remarks during interactions with fans and teammates.

“When wisdom is your middle name…”CSK tweeted while sharing the video, tagging Dhoni.

In the three-minute long video, Dhoni is seen thanking fans for their never-faltering support and for being there even when Chennai Super Kings wasn’t playing in the IPL following the match-fixing scandal in 2013.

Highlighting Dhoni’s achievements, the video also showed the lighter side of their favourite captain who joked around with his teammates but also gave valuable advice to youngsters.

Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, calling time on his 16-year long career. He is one of the most successful Indian captains who has won all three ICC trophies.

Under his leadership, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.

The CSK captain will be seen leading the IPL franchise in this year’s Indian Premier League which will start from September 19 in the UAE. The Chennai team will take on defending champions Mumbai Indians in the inaugural match of the 13th edition of the IPL.
