WATCH: Dwayne Bravo gifts ‘Helicopter 7’ song to Dhoni on birthday

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is celebrating his 39 birthday on Tuesday, and as fans and teammates alike take to social media to wish the beloved former captain, West Indies cricketer has revealed his special gift for the birthday boy.

Last week, Bravo had given a sneak peek into a special song he had dedicated to Dhoni, and had confirmed that he would release the ‘Helicopter 7’ song for his Chennai Super Kings captain.

True to his word, Bravo released the song on Tuesday, posting a one-minute long snippet of the video on Instagram.

“So the wait is over!! @mahi7781 you’re truly a great inspiration to a lot of ppl around the world as we get ready to celebrate you birthday on behalf of my team, my fans and your fans we wish you gods blessings, the helicopter is off!! go check it out guys on YouTube and also available on all platforms #Helicopter #7 #Champion,” Bravo wrote on Instagram.

In the song, Bravo highlights Dhoni’s journey in international cricket and his various achievements. The video, which is a little over three minutes long, got over 130,000 views in the first hour of release, Bravo said as he posted another photo on Instagram, thanking fans for all the love they have shown the song.

Later, Bravo also went live on Instagram to talk about the song. Calling Dhoni his “brother from another mother, the West Indies cricketer wished his ‘Thala’ a happy birthday, and thanked his fans again for their support. He also interacted with his Indian fans during his live session.

Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings, led by Dhoni, also shared the song from their official Twitter handle. “The Helicopter 7 has taken off! @DJBravo47's tribute to #Thala @msdhoni, his brother from another mother! #HappyBirthdayDhoni #WhistlePodu,” CSK tweeted.

The video, at the time of writing this, has garnered over 340,000 views.

Dhoni is the only captain in cricket history to win all three major ICC trophies—the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
