Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier will be leaving PSG at the end of the season. The duo has decided not to extend their contracts with PSG. Both the exits will leave a giant gaping hole in PSG’s attack and defence. This is good news for Barcelona as they will have players up their sleeve that could force a swap deal with PSG for Neymar.

PSG has had a tough time managing Neymar both on and off the field. Neymar’s time at PSG has been filled with controversies. The Brazilian has had numerous issues with other players, most notably with Cavani. Barcelona on the other hand have been keen to sign Neymar. The latter too has expressed his interest in going back to Camp Nou. Barcelona stars Messi and Suarez are on very good terms with the Brazilian. The trio have met off the field on numerous occasions after Neymar’s exit from Barcelona.

With the absence of Cavani and Meunier, PSG will be looking to replace them soon. Barcelona could offer Antoine Griezmann and Semedo in a swap deal for Neymar. Greizmann would be an excellent replacement for Cavani, while Semedo could replace Meunier. A swap deal would be ideal for Barcelona who would otherwise have to cough a lot more money to land Neymar. The COVID-19 pandemic has put all clubs under tremendous financial pressure. Barcelona would not be looking to break bank at such a time, even if it is to sign Neymar.
