Football federation FIFA is looking at a mega transfer window as the world battles coronavirus outbreak. Many clubs have been hit financially due to the suspension of play since the outbreak of COVID-19. With increasing concerns over when sporting action will resume across the world, the summer transfer window has been a big question mark.

With leagues suspended across the world, FIFA is considering increasing the time period of the transfer season. According to reports, FIFA could be looking at an extended transfer window starting from July till January. The suspension of play has cost clubs dearly with many opting for pay cuts for their players and staff members. With so much economic pressure already on the clubs, FIFA’s decision to increase the transfer window could be a breather for the clubs, should it materialise.

An extended transfer window would give clubs enough time to get their finances in order before making purchases. Many big names are expected to go under the hammer. Neymar could see a return to Barcelona while Greizmann could make a switch to Manchester United. With a lot og big names and big money involved, clubs would need time to recuperate from the COVID-19 crisis.
