South Africa won their third Rugby World Cup, beating England 32-12 at Yokohama, Japan, on Saturday. Tries from Makazole Mapimpi and Cheslin Kolbe helped South Africa put up a strong showing, with help from 22 points from Handre Pollard.

South Africa, led by Rasssie Erasmus, went into half-time, leading 12-6 as England kept repeating errors. Pollard rubbed it in for England, kicking four out of five penalties. England lost an injured Kyle Sinckler within just three minutes.

Owen Farrell helped England narrow the gap to just three points. However, with Farrell missing a chance and then switching to fly-half, South Africa managed to extend its lead, with Pollard, scoring a penalty kick, before Kolbe put the finishing touches to their World Cup triumph.
