India’s batting order collapsed cheaply in the third T20 against South Africa in Bengaluru on Sunday, as the home side managed just 134 runs.

Captain Virat Kohli opted to bat first, saying, "We have some plans in our mind and we want to test our batting unit".

Rohit Sharma fell early on a Beuran Hendricks delivery, managing just nine runs off eight deliveries before getting caught on the slips by Reeza Hendricks.

Heavy-hitters Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer all went out on single-digit scores as Tabraiz Shamsi, Beuran Hendricks, Kagiso Rabada and Bjorn Fortuin bowled a deadly spell.

Topscorer Shikhar Dhawan managed just 36 runs before falling to Shamsi, while Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant went out for 19 runs each. Jadeja fought hard in the final overs with a spree of boundaries before getting bowled and caught by Kagiso Rabada.

South Africa need just 135 to win, with the tourist’s decision to replace Anrich Nortje with Beuran Hendricks paying off as the left-arm fast-bowler picked off Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya.
