After Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss in the first day-night ODI match with India in Sydney on Saturday, the visitors accounted for the openers within the first 10 overs. When reports last came in, Usman Khawaja (26) and Shaun Marsh (13) were batting and the Australian score was 75 for two in 17 overs.

Finch was dismissed by pacer Bhuvaneswar Kumar, who bowled him for six. Wicket-keeper Alex Carey, who was promoted to open, hit five fours in his knock of 24, before being caught off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav by Rohit Sharma in the 10th over.

After all-rounder Hardik Pandya, along with batsman K.L. Rahul, were suspended by the BCCI on Friday, Ravindra Jadeja has bagged the all-rounder's spot for the Sydney ODI.

India and Australia will play two more ODIs in the series. The second ODI will be played in Adelaide on January 15 and the third ODI will be in Melbourne on January 18.
