India continued to be in the number one position in the latest ICC Test team rankings as England climbed to the fourth spot following their 4-1 win in the five-match Test series on Tuesday.

India lost the final Test at the Oval by 118 runs. Valiant efforts from K.L. Rahul and Rishabh Pant gave hope of an unlikely win for the visiting side. However, their tons went in vain as the English bowling attack swept up the remaining wickets to lead their side to victory.

England, who were fifth in position in the rankings at the beginning of the series, gained eight points to take their tally to 105, one point behind South Africa and Australia.

After losing the series 1-4, India are currently on 115 points, having lost 10 points since the start of the series.
