Champions League quarterfinal draw: Clash of heavyweights

The quarterfinal draw of the UEFA Champions League is out and, as promised, has a couple of heavyweight clashes. Juventus will play Real Madrid while the two remaining English teams, Liverpool and Manchester City will face off for a place in the semifinal.

Besides the two big games, Barcelona will play AS Roma and Bayern Munich will be up against Sevilla.

The quarterfinalists include three Spanish teams (Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla), two Italian teams (Juventus and AS Roma), two English teams (Manchester City and Liverpool) and one German team (Bayern Munich).

European giants like Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG and Tottenham were knocked out in the round of 16, by Barcelona, Sevilla, Real Madrid and Juventus, leaving eight teams remaining in the fight for the continental trophy which will culminate in the final to be held in Kiev on May 26.

Veteran Ukraine striker and former Ballon d'Or winner Andriy Shevchenko presented the draw in Nyon, picking the teams at random.

The quarterfinals will be played across two legs on April 3/4 and April 11/12.
