After over an hour of disruption, messaging service WhatsApp was restored. Meta spokesperson said that they have fixed the issue with WhatsApp after users were not able to use the application for hours.
"We know people had trouble sending messages on WhatsApp today. We've fixed the issue and apologise for any inconvenience," a company spokesperson said.
Several users across Europe, Asia and the United Kingdom had issued the application. Users reported that they are able to send and receive messages but the glitches still persist. The issues with the app had started by noon in several countries. Online tool Down Detector said WhatsApp was facing issues and listed thousands of such reports by 1pm.

"We're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we're working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible," Meta company spokesperson said shortly after people starting reporting the issue.
As soon as the Meta-owned app started facing disruptions, users took to Twitter to share hilarious memes.
