Ahead of Modi's visit on Wednesday, the Mumbai Traffic Police has announced a number of temporary traffic restrictions in parts of Goregaon to ensure safety and manage traffic.
The traffic restrictions will apply between 8 AM and 10 PM from October 27-31, within the Jogeshwari division’s jurisdiction.
What are the temporary restrictions?
According to the MTP, all vehicles will be prohibited from travelling from the Mrinaltai Gore Junction to the NESCO Gap, except for emergency vehicles, VVIPs, and local residents. Only one-way traffic—from the NESCO Gap towards the Mrinaltai Gore Junction—will be allowed.
Also, the right turn from the Mrinaltai Gore Junction towards the NESCO Gap via the Ram Mandir Road and the Hub Mall service road (towards the NESCO/Jaycoach Junction) will remain closed.
Vehicles travelling from Ram Mandir have been advised to travel via the Mrinaltai Gore Flyover, the Mahananda Dairy Western Express Highway (WEH) South Service Road, the Jaycoach Junction, or the JVLR Junction.
Commuters coming from JVLR can proceed towards Powai via the JVLR Road or towards Mumbai via the WEH Service Road (leading to the main WEH).
Parking will also be prohibited at several points, including both directions of the WEH, the NESCO Service Road, and Ghas Bazaar Road, as well as service roads near the WEH, Trauma Care Hospital, Mahananda Dairy, Vanrai Police Station, Nirlon Company, and Ashok Nagar.
