Even as the Indian Army claimed to have killed 20 Pakistani soldiers in a retaliatory firing on the Line of Control, Pakistan Army has come out with claims that they have destroyed an Indian Army post and killed five soldiers. However, the Indian side has denied of any casualty in Pakistan's fire assault.

According to Pakistan Army, it has destroyed an Indian Army post in the Tatta Pani sector on the LoC on late Thursday evening. Pakistan Army has even released a video in this regard.

Indian Army has been very pro-active while responding to any ceasefire violation by Pakistan.

While meeting those injured in the terror attack on Sunjwan camp of the 36th brigade of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman warned that "Pakistan will pay" of its misadventure.

“I wouldn't certainly state a timeline (for action against Pakistan), but will say this: Pakistan will pay for this misadventure. I repeat, Pakistan will pay for it," Sitharaman had told media. In fact, she went on to say that constant ceasefire violations by Pakistan were aimed to support the infiltration of terrorists to Indian side.

Pakistan has violated ceasefire agreement on the LoC for at least 250 times this year so far, while the figure was close to 850 in 2017. And as per an assessment by the Army headquarters, there are around 200 active militants are hiding in the Kashmir Valley, especially in south Kashmir, and more than half of them are foreign militants.

Since Indian forces carried out surgical strike on the terror camps based in Pakistan occupied Kashmir in September 2016, Pakistan Army has been very aggressive and violating peace pact regularly.

Indian Army is also giving befitting response to the firing, after its local commanders, operating close to the LoC, have been given free hand by the government and Army headquarters.

Indian forces have killed 138 Pakistan Army personnel in 2017 in tactical operations and retaliatory firings along the LoC, while on the other hand the Indian Army lost 28 soldiers in the same period.
