Overall, voters also said that the NDA is more likely to lead the government. The alliance currently holds 86 out of the 126 seats in the Assam Assembly.

The Congress, meanwhile, holds 22 seats.

Respondent said that unemployment, corruption and fair investigation of the late singer Zubeen Garg's death were the top issues in this election. 42.6 per cent of the voters believed that Garg’s death would be a factor in the upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, in a poll by the IANS-Matrize Opinion Poll, the ruling party was forecast to win between 96 and 98 seats in the assembly with a 43 to 44 per cent of the vote share. The other parties would not gain a significant enough number to form the next government.
