The Indian Army sources on Monday said it thwarted an infiltration bid and killed two terrorists along the Line of Control (LocC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri. The terrorists were reportedly heavily armed.
According to the statement released by the Army's Jammu-based White Knight Corps on X, the Army received intelligence that there was likely an infiltration bid and the operation was launched on the night of Sunday, towards Monday morning in the Laam sector of Nowshera.
The area was kept under strict surveillance throughout the night following the encounter, and the search operation was launched at first light.

The troops picked up the movement of a group of terrorists trying to infiltrate from across the border, and gunfire broke out. "Two terrorists have been neutralised and a large quantity of war-like stores including two AK-47s and one pistol (have) thus far (been) recovered. A search operation is in progress," it said.
The search operation continues.
This is the second operation in two weeks. On August 29, the Army launched an anti-infiltration bid operation, successfully eliminating three terrorists who were attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. That operation was launched after the Army received intelligence about the bid. The J-K Police further corroborated the evidence. Based on the inputs, troops of the Indian Army, JKP, and BSF laid ambushes on likely infiltration routes in both Machhal and Tangdhar sectors.
