Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal slams Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has alleged that the encounter was staged to show Delhi police in a bad light. "Dirty lies" she said in a tweet.

"Let me tell those who think that they can scare me by telling dirty lies about me. I have done many big things in this short life. I was attacked many times, but did not stop..the fire inside me grew stronger. No one can suppress my voice. Will keep fighting till I am alive," said Maliwal in her tweet.

Maliwal on Thursday said that she was harassed and dragged by a drunk man outside AIIMS after her hand got stuck.

BJP had raised questions over her "molestation" claims and alleged that she was working closely with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and it was all a "drama".

Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP working president, alleged that Harish Chandra Suryavanshi, accused of harassing Maliwal was a prominent AAP activist in South Delhi' Sangam Vihar, said reports.

Photos of Suryavanshi campaigning for AAP were released by BJP to support their claims. Sachdeva said that it was a "conspiracy" of AAP to defame Delhi by portraying the city as unsafe for women.

BJP leader Shazia Ilmi claimed that AAP did a sting operation to defame Delhi and its police. It is “cheap politics”, she had said.

On Friday, Arvind Kejriwal reacted to the recent Maliwal incident, where she was dragged by a car for a few metres on Thursday. He went on blame L-G for playing "dirty politics" rather than taking steps to improve law and order in the state.

"Law n order situation fast deteriorating in Del. LG, rather than taking steps to improve it, busy playing dirty politics. He has called series of meetings of Del govt officers today, which he has no powers to do, to further meddle and interfere in elected govt’s functioning," Kejriwal said in a tweet.
