The BJP national executive meeting will begin on Monday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's undertaking a roadshow in Delhi.

The two-day meeting is likely to discuss multiple party agendas, including an extension of tenure for party national president J P Nadda. The party's chief three-year term as the national president ends this month but he is likely to remain as head till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are over, according to reports.

Besides, the party is also likely to deliberate on its strategy for assembly and general elections across multiple states. The BJP leaders will also discuss several important issues facing the country including "political and economic resolutions."

Party general secretary Vinod Tawde said elaborate discussions will be held on the upcoming assembly elections in states, the BJP's pravas yojana' for weak Lok Sabha seats and strengthening booth-level teams. "In a way, this meeting will finalise the party's future course of action of the BJP," he told reporters on Sunday.

Ahead of the national executive, the party's national office bearers, state unit presidents and various organisational secretaries will meet at the BJP headquarters here, which will also see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders.

The party is also planning a grand exhibition based on six themes, including service works of the party. It will also showcase India as Vishwa Guru', initiatives like governance-first, empowering the deprived, inclusive and strong India and conserving the age-old icons like building the Ram temple at Ayodhya, and the rise of Sanatan Dharma across the globe.

Modi's roadshow

Narendra Modi's roadshow will start from Patel Chowk to the NDMC convention centre, the meeting venue. Though the show was planned for Tuesday, it was preponed after the party's schedule was changed.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's roadshow in the national capital on Monday. "Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is organizing a road show having mass public participation on Sansad Marg from Patel Chowk to Sansad Marg-Jai Singh Road Junction on January 16 from 3 pm onwards. Prime Minister of India will grace the said road show with his presence. Special Traffic arrangements will be in place to ensure smooth traffic management in the vicinity of the roadshow route," said Delhi Police in a statement.

Congress lashes out at BJP

The Congress has taken a dig at BJP over its scheduled roadshow in the national capital, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "rattled by the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra", has got his party to organise a "joke of a roadshow".

Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said on Twitter, "An insecure Prime Minister rattled by the huge success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra has got the BJP to organise a joke of a road show passing through a short distance in the national capital tomorrow."

"Such hollow, choreographed events will only keep his drum-beaters busy," he said.
