Hackers attempted to breach the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) website as many as 6,000 on November 30.

This comes in the wake of a major ransomware attack on AIIMS Delhi servers recently.

An official from National Informatics Centre (NIC) confirmed to Moneycontrol that ICMR servers were attacked 6,000 times in 24 hours, by a blacklisted IP address based in Hong Kong.

The hackers failed to get into the ICMR website as it had improved security measures, including an updated firewall.

Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar had said the ransomware attack on the servers of AIIMS Delhi was a "conspiracy and it has been planned by forces that are pretty significant."

The servers of AIIMS), Delhi were out of order for 10 consecutive days due to the ransomware attack.
