Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Madhya Pradesh, is expected to address a mega rally at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar's birthplace in Mhow on Constitution Day. Every year on November 26, India commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.

Constitution Day was first celebrated in 2015 as a mark of tribute to India’s first Law Minister Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role in the drafting of the document.

According to reports, Rahul is expected to target the Modi government and speak along the lines of 'save constitution save democracy'. Priyanka Gandhi, who also joined the yatra in the state, is expected to join the mega rally, ANI reported.

The Gandhi siblings performed 'Ma Narmada' aarti at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. Priyanka was joined by husband Robert Vadra and their son Rehan.

During his public rallies, Rahul has been targetting the policies of the Modi-led government at the Centre. Addressing his first public rally in the state at Burhanpur earlier this week, Rahul criticised the government for inflation and also questioned the recently launched Agniveer recruitment scheme.

The Bharat Jodo yatra entered the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh on November 23 after completing its Maharashtra leg. It will cover 380 km in 12 days in the state before entering Rajasthan.

Modi to inaugurate projects at Supreme Court

Prime Minister Modi will participate in the Constitution Day celebrations at the Supreme Court where he will inaugurate new initiatives under the e-court project. The initiatives being launched by the Prime Minister include Virtual Justice Clock, JustIS mobile App 2.0, Digital court, and S3WaaS Websites.

The e-court project is an effort to provide services to litigants, lawyers and the judiciary through information and communication technology-enabled courts.

Modi paid homage on Saturday to the greats who gave the Constitution and reiterated the commitment to fulfil their vision for the nation. "Today, on Constitution Day, we pay homage to those greats who gave us our Constitution and reiterate our commitment to fulfil their vision for our nation," Modi tweeted.

Several other political leaders also took to Twitter to share tributes on the occasion of Constitution Day.
